1975 GMC K15 Sierra Grande

1975 GMC K15 Sierra Grande

Wonderfully preserved truck that has aged gracefully.

This 1975 GMC K15 has the Sierra Grande package with power steering and power brakes (front disc, rear drum.)  It was owned and maintained for many years by Herbert "Bud" Sawyer of Topsham, Maine.  It has been described by many unprovoked people as "Bud's Pride and Joy."   Bud owned an auto body shop in Topsham for years and the pride he took in his work shows through on this truck.

Originally ordered at Bill Dodge Oldsmobile in Brunswick, Maine.  The original documents are still with the truck including: The Original Maine Title, Original Dealer "Window Sticker," Original Temporary 14-day License Plate, Original Owners Manual, and Original Maintenance Schedule.

The truck body/frame is in remarkable original condition.  This is reflective of Buds meticulous preventative maintenance.  Two to three times a year, the under carriage was sprayed with waste oil and driven around in the dirt parking lot at the local fairground.  As a direct result of that, this truck was protected from corrosion very well.  At some point the original owner repainted the truck in the original Greystone Metallic, and substituted a vibrant metallic blue where the white two-tone had been.  Very good condition brightwork.  Original GM Step/Tow rear bumper.

Factory front disc brakes, with rear drums.  Power Steering, with new steering box.  Factory 4x4 works great.  3.07 gear ratio.  New Warn locking hubs in front.  Complete chassis grease service just completed. New front and rear leaf spring shackles.  New rear leaf springs.

Originally ordered with a 350 4bbl engine.  The motor was replaced with a rebuilt 355 V8 (350 bored 0.030 over) that runs excellent.  Approximately 3000+- miles on the rebuild.  Edelbrock carburetor.  GM HEI ignition.  New Dual exhaust from factory manifolds, through Flowmaster chambered mufflers, fully welded. LT235/85R16 tires on Gloss White US Wheel 8-Spoke 70's Series steel wheels.  GM 12-bolt rear axle. Turbo 350 automatic transmission.

The interior is a respectable Grey and Red two tone.  Front bench seat with new seat cover and EXCELLENT seat form.  Full factory gauges.  All work with the following notes:  Speedometer reads approx. 5 mph high,  fuel gauge reads high (I believe 1/4 tank is empty,) charging gauge does not work (alternator is charging, verified with a voltmeter.)    Original AM radio has been replaced with an aftermarket AM/FM, which works great.  Heater/Defrost works great on all blower motor speeds.

Runs and drives excellent.  We have personally driven this on several 100+ mile round trips with zero problems.  Ready to be appreciated and driven by a new owner.
